The Worst Thing to See on British TV
Last night, we got home from karaoke (I sadly sang the Beastie Boys' classic "Fight For Your Right to Party"), I turned on the TV, and to my surprise, found a simulcast from ESPN of the Cubs-Braves game. Despite being tired and having an early class, I decided to watch. What's the first thing I see? Alfonso Soriano getting hit in the hand. I wake up this morning to read he's out for six weeks with a broken hand. There's really no reason for this post, just an excuse for me to vent about Soriano. The Curse is awakening. I can feel it.

Pants,
I find that even though you root for the Cubs, the most ridiculous team in baseball, I must empathize with your horror. Albert Pujols re-injured his calf muscle and had to be flown home in the middle of the Reds game Tuesday night to get an MRI. No tear, but he will be out 3-ish weeks. So, I am putting my hatred of all things Cubs aside to commiserate with you in our mutual injury-induced baseball tragedy.
Peace out.

Hey Michael,
I too was sad to hear about Soriano's injury. Avid Cubs fan that I am I'm also going to see the Cubs play the White Socks on June 19th and am disapointed that Soriano won't be playing (expecieally 'cause thats the only Cubs jersey I own), but I'm still very excited. Hopefully the curse will soon go dormant again, I mean it has been 100 years
Enjoy the summer!!
By the way the one about going to the cubs game was Emily (who pownes sydney as your very favorite cousin any day (p-o-w-n-a-g thats pownage without an e -Greg McNabb))
Have a great time and, so yea.
Hiya!
I was very sad to hear about Soriano. He will be out of the crosstown classic and probably won't get the votes for the all-star game if he is injured. He thinks he will be back in less than 6 weeks, but we'll see. On the plus side today was singularly the best ending of a cubs game ever.
Cubs/Braves game- 60th anniversary of WGN tv broadcasting the cubs so they played in these cool 1948 jerseys. The Braves even wore Boston Hats and striped socks. So here we go: bottom of the 11th, tied game. Bases loaded, no outs. They bring in a new pitcher after the bases are loaded. On his first pitch, he hits the batter and the Cubs win. It was HILARIOUS. I'm sorry you missed it. Look it up on utube or something.
Also, I miss you boys. Say hi to Jon for me.
